Islamists silence another critic

In Sunday's New York Times, journalist and blogger Steven Vincent wrote a piece from Basra calling attention to the disturbing infiltration of the city's police force by members of Shiite Islamist groups. In particular, he said, it appears that the loathsome Muqtada al-Sadr has succeeded in infecting the fledgling force with his loyalists. As many as three in every four cops may be hiding allegiance to al-Sadr and an agenda that includes the Islamization of Basran society and the silencing of all who oppose theocracy and the imposition of sharia law.

With horrifying efficiency, they proceeded to silence Vincent for exposing them--kidnapping him, shooting him in the head, and dumping his body on the street earlier this morning. Read the article that cost him his life.
